About Oiriunu
Oiriunu is a property resilience platform created to help homeowners move beyond simply understanding risk — and start taking action to protect their properties. Founded in 2021 by Nikolas M. J. Kron, Oiriunu addresses the growing gap between the increasing frequency of extreme weather events and the speed at which traditional infrastructure solutions can respond.
Extreme weather is changing. Insurance markets are changing. Property ownership is changing. Oiriunu gives property owners the tools, information, and resources to take action — because waiting for someone else to solve the problem is no longer enough.
The Next Storm Won’t Wait. Neither Should You.

Building the Future of Property Resilience
Nikolas M. J. Kron is the Founder and CEO of Oiriunu, a property resilience platform created to help homeowners move beyond simply understanding risk — and start taking action to protect their properties.
Nikolas founded Oiriunu after recognizing a growing disconnect between the increasing frequency of extreme weather events and the speed at which traditional infrastructure solutions could respond. While governments, municipalities, and policymakers continue debating long-term infrastructure investments, property owners are facing storms, floods, wildfires, and other climate-related threats today.
Infrastructure improvements can take years or even decades. A storm can change a family’s life in minutes.
A Career Built Around Innovation and Transformation
Before founding Oiriunu, Nikolas spent more than two decades helping organizations use technology, data, and innovation to solve complex business challenges. As the Director of Sales at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young’s Center For Business Innovation, he led strategy and transformation initiatives for global companies including Purina, ExxonMobil, and Johnson & Johnson. He later founded Equity Interface, one of the early digital platforms designed to democratize access to real estate investment opportunities, and managed significant real estate investments and partnerships through various holding companies.
Throughout his career, Nikolas has focused on a consistent theme: using technology to make complex systems more transparent, accessible, and actionable. Oiriunu continues that mission.

Property Resilience Readiness Checklist
Oiriunu helps homeowners, buyers, and local partners turn property-risk information into practical next steps. A basic readiness review includes:
- Confirm the property’s flood zone, drainage context, and nearby water features.
- Review past flooding, stormwater issues, basement or crawlspace water intrusion, and insurance history where available.
- Document elevation, grading, foundation type, utilities, sump systems, gutters, downspouts, and known vulnerable areas.
- Identify short-term actions such as clearing drains, extending downspouts, checking sump backup power, and protecting important documents.
- Identify longer-term improvements such as regrading, backflow prevention, flood vents, elevation work, or landscape changes.
- Check insurance coverage, deductibles, waiting periods, and whether separate flood coverage is needed.
- Create a simple household plan for severe weather alerts, emergency contacts, evacuation routes, and post-storm inspection.
- Keep photos, receipts, permits, maintenance records, and mitigation work in one property resilience file.
